ASACP Adds SegPay

LOS ANGELES — E-commerce payment provider SegPay has shown it is serious about combating child pornography by signing on as the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection’s newest corporate sponsor.

“SegPay was founded on the basic principles of security and safeguarding the webmasters who select us as their processor,” SegPay’s compliance officer Nick Toth said. “Our goal is always to operate at the highest possible level of compliance with these principles. To meet that goal, we partner with vendors and organizations that have complimentary business philosophies. ASACP is a positive representation of our industry — and most importantly, ASACP works to protect our children worldwide.”

SegPay provides e-commerce payment solutions for webmasters. In June 2006, the company launched its new Zephyr processing platform, which utilizes the latest Microsoft .NET framework technology. This allows SegPay to respond quickly to webmaster requirements, and enables pay pages to load quickly.

With the inclusion of SegPay, ASACP now counts 60 industry-leading companies as sponsors.

“ASACP sponsorship means stepping up and contributing to the industry’s child protection efforts,” ASACP Executive Director Joan Irvine said. “And that’s what SegPay is doing. They know it’s not just about making a buck, or processing a buck. SegPay is demonstrating their commitment to kids, and to the future of the industry.”
