Maggie's is a non-profit run by and for sex workers since 1986, and the first of its kind in Canada. The organization’s main goals are to provide vital services and resources to sex workers, such as drop-ins, safety support, outreach, and the fight for sex-worker rights.

The organization’s belief is that in order for sex workers to improve their circumstances, they must control their own lives and destinies. Maggie’s mission is to provide crucial services in education, advocacy, and support, to assist sex workers to live and work with safety and dignity.

"For too long, sex workers have been marginalized and deprived of basic human rights,” Knox said. “We are entitled to equal representation under the law, safe working conditions, and freedom of expression without censure. Most importantly, it must be recognized by society, religious and political institutions, and individuals, that we are deserving of dignity and respect, despite the taboo nature of our profession."

For fans of Knox wishing to meet her, they may do so this weekend at Al’s Diamond Cabaret in Reading, Pa. Belle will be feature dancing at 10:30 p.m. and at 12:30 a.m. today and Saturday.

Al’s Diamond Cabaret is located at 1810 N. 5th Street, Reading, 19601. For more information, visit AlsDiamondCabaret.com or call the club directly at 610.373.5277.
