Ducati will assume its own distribution, Kevin Ducati, owner of the production company told XBIZ.
“It was mutual,” Ducati said of the termination. “It’s something I’ve been planning for about the last year. We’ve been trying to get everything under our control.”
Ducati added that he intends to hire additional people to handle the distribution chores for the growing company, which will debut new product next month from Argentina. The company also has plans to enter the gay market and continue its new tranny series.
By mutual agreement, NorthStar will continue to distribute the Ducati line for 30 days.
“Our distribution agreement ended a couple of years ago,” Ducati said. “We just kept rolling with it. It was originally only a one-year agreement. It’s just time to move in a new direction. I’m looking forward to having more control of the product and being able to make deals on the fly. It will also mean that we will be the sole focus for distribution, rather than being part of a group of other companies.”
NorthStar Associates also claimed that the termination of the business relationship with Ducati was amicable.
“NorthStar Associates would like to wish Mr. Ducati all the best in his future endeavors,” NorthStar’s marketing director, Michael Atkins said.
