Harry Jose, an adult industry veteran, founded the company in September. Jose previously served as operations manager for Elegant Angel, DVSX and Juicy Entertainment. Joining Jose as American Xcess’ head of sales is Michelle Perez who started in the industry as a secretary for Evil Angel in 1991.
The company has partnered with MSS Interactive, CD Girls, One Eyed Jack, Joanna Jet, Your Choice, British Bukkake Babes, Mad At It Productions, Pissy Galore, Shameless Studios, Hercules Productions, Spanking Tomato, Erotic Flesh Productions, Low Down Entertainment, Moore Wood Productions and Hot Wendy Productions.
“Over the course of my time in the adult industry I’ve been given the chance to work with different producers who were looking for distribution deals for their product,” Jose told XBIZ. “American Xcess is basically a marriage of convenience.”
American Xcess will not produce any content of its own. Instead it will release two titles per week from the company’s studio partners. Jose acquires the edited footage, which is transferred to DVD and then duplicated and shipped from his warehouse.
Jose said the goal of American Xcess is to carry a cross section of titles spanning different genres and a wide array of adult niches, including bondage, water sports, interracial, bukkake, transsexual, POV, amateur, boy/girl and girl/girl.
“We’re looking to bring a little bit of everything into the fold,” Jose said. “The fans drive the industry, so we want to bring great content to the marketplace. Fans can communicate with us via our website to tell us what they liked, didn’t like and want to see more of.”
