'Censored Girls of the U.K.' Calendar Debuts

LONDON — The Sex & Censorship campaign has released a "Censored Girls of the U.K." calendar for 2014.

The calendar features 12 British porn stars, who were shot by a number of photographers for the U.K.-based free speech and sexual freedom group's project.

"To protect public decency, all unpleasant and potentially dangerous body parts — vaginas, anuses and nipples — have been replaced with the face of British Prime Minister and 'Censor-in-Chief' David Cameron," according to campaign founder Jerry Barnett.

Barnett told XBIZ on Monday that when he first thought of the calendar, he was planning to censor the images with a Sex & Censorship logo, but the David Cameron idea popped into his head and it seemed like a lot more fun.

He said that the David Cameron image was provided via Wikipedia Commons and used under Britain's Open Government License.

"I put out the word to producers and models, and quite a few people sent me images," he said. "My own copy arrived a couple of days ago and the print quality is excellent. This should be the essential wall decoration for industry members in 2014."

Barnett said that he expects "harder, non-optional blocks" for pornography to be proposed soon in the U.K., "taking us to a new level of censorship."

“Free access to the Internet has already been lost for many people, and further laws attacking Internet freedom will appear soon," he said. "Meanwhile, laws originally designed to prevent child abuse have been copied and extended to cover images of sexual play between consenting adults.

"Images that are legal in most of Europe and the U.S. can result in a prison sentence in the U.K. — merely for having the image on your computer or smartphone," he said. "Having done so much to prevent people from seeing the naked female form, we felt it right to honor David Cameron’s contribution to censorship in this way.”

Pornstars who donated their work for the calendar include Jessica Jensen, Tanya Tate, Yuffie Yulan, Lexi Lowe and Satine Spark. Photographers andstudios who donated include Matt Christie of MattChristie.com, Trash of TrashMeister.com and Ben Yates of Pervlens Media.

The calendar, priced at £12, is available here. About £5 from each purchase will go to fund the campaign.
