Bailey Blue Changes Stage Name to Dahlia Sky

LOS ANGELES — Adult film star Bailey Blue told XBIZ Wednesday she has officially changed her stage name to Dahlia Sky.

The performer said that her webmaster for BaileyBluexxx.com in early December received a Cease & Desist letter from a clothing company called Bailey Blue, which had trademarked the name in 2007. The letter asked that Blue change her name and website URL completely, not just one letter of it.

“I had until December 27th to change it,” Sky said. “It’s really unfortunate and I wish I didn’t have to. I just launched my website in August, so I’m pretty sure that’s what caught the company’s attention. It sucks though because I have my name on all the movies that I’ve done and it’s kind of an established name after three years.”

The performer's webmaster, Puba.com, switched her site to DahliaSky.com on Dec. 23. Sky said she had not heard of the clothing company, which was founded in 2003, until she already was two years into her adult film career.

She started performing in December 2010 and has amassed more than 160 movie credits, including the high-profile Evil Angel release “Bailey Blue Wide Open” from Manuel Ferrara Productions last year in which she did her first d.p. scene. She received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for the 2014 XBIZ Awards on Jan. 24 for her role in "The Temptation of Eve" for New Sensations.

Sky said she carefully considered her new name. “I did a lot of research and I actually talked to multiple people about it and Dahlia seems to be a liked name. And since there’s nobody’s really active that has it, I went with that. Also, one of my favorite bands has Dahlia in the name,” she said, referring to the metal band The Black Dahlia Murder.

Sky said she has yet to use the new stage name in a movie, but intends to going forward.

“My plan for this year is to work as much as possible and go even bigger and possibly more extreme with my career,” Sky continued. “Last year was a pretty busy year for me and hopefully this year will be even better. Beyond that, I’d like to go back to school and at some point I’d like to possibly direct my own movies or own my own business.”

The 24-year-old native of Lake Elsinore, Calif., said she joined agent Mark Spiegler’s roster of talent in October 2012. Her other recent highlight movies include an acting turn in “Change of Heart” for Wicked Pictures and several titles for Jules Jordan Video, such as "Wet Asses," "Screaming Ass Gasms," and "Ass Factor 4 & 5."

"Last year I worked for Jules Jordan Video for the first time, and they're a really great company," Sky said. "And there's a lot more movies I've done that haven't come out yet."
