Sssh.com Announces Nov. Charitable Program Recipient

BOSTON — Sssh.com, an online erotica site for women, has chosen the Conglese music group Orchestre Symphonique Kimbanguiste as the winner of its Philanthropic Donation Program, chosen monthly by the site’s community members.

As per its charity program, Sssh.com will grant a portion of the site’s November’s profits to Central Africa’s only symphony orchestra — and the world’s only all-black orchestra — to assist in the building of a music school in the Congo’s capital city of Kinshasa. Sssh.com said in a release that this area is one of the poorest in the world, and the 200-plus members of the orchestra and choir rely heavily on donations for support.

“With the holidays upon us, it’s important to spread the word about giving to charitable organizations,” Sssh.com Founder Angie Rowntree said. “We often get caught up in our day-to-day lives, but during this season of giving we stop and reflect on how lucky we are to have so much, while so many others do not.”

In September Sssh.com’s community members voted to donate to humanitarian group Doctors Without Borders, the global organization that helps those in urgent need of medical aid; in October the group-of-choice was Puppies Behind Bars, a coalition that trains inmates to raise service dogs for wounded war veterans and law enforcement.

“Our goal with this company was to create an unrestricted online structure that would bring together positive, like-minded women with a focus on their adventurous fantasies,” Rowntree added, “But we have found much more in our group … a real willingness to share, support and give. I’m proud of what Sssh.com has become, and is becoming, every day.”

Organizations and foundations interested in being included in Sssh’s program can email editor@sssh.com.
