LiveCamNetwork to Hold Star Wars Geekathon

MONTREAL — Attempting to reenact the famous lightsaber duels that made the Jedi famous, LiveCamNetwork chat hostesses will be holding a Star Wars Geekathon, and their own version of lightsaber fights in the nude. The event takes place Friday, Sept. 22 from 9 p.m. until midnight.

The idea for LiveCamNetwork’s “Star Wars” themed chat event was the brainchild of LCN hostess Kendra Alliard, a self-avowed Star Wars geek. Tonight’s event will be the second such theme night.

“[Last year’s event] only had three girls watching ‘Revenge of the Sith,’” Alliard said. “But this time we’re going whole hog with seven girls and a real ‘Star Wars’ trivia drinking game. It’s almost why I went to work for LiveCamNetwork.”

According to Stephanie “Mediachick” Soucy, the LCN girls will watch the original “Star Wars” movie while playing amongst each other, and participating in a drinking game centered on the film.

“This event is totally unique and fun,” Soucy told XBIZ. “Last year the guys loved it and the girls had a blast. It’s an opportunity for both the girls and the chat users to do something different.”

The Star Wars Geekathon will go live in one of LiveCamNetwork.com’s private chat rooms, so the rest of the livecam network will remain fully operational. The LCN movie screening room will have full sound so chat participants can hear the interaction between the girls, and follow along with the drinking game. Soucy encourages participants to watch the film at home as well.

LiveCamNetwork’s founder Mark Prince is proud that the Star Wars Geekathon will feature the company’s live widescreen high-definition technology.

“[This event is] an excuse to have fun with it,” Prince said. “After all these regular chat hostesses using it daily, we’ve tweaked it to perfection. It’s really something to see now and it’s time we do something a little bit spectacular. The Star Wards event [is about] drinking games, watching the movie together and then reenacting the climax with light sabers. It’s more of a pajama party.”

LiveCamNetwork also is preparing for its October Girl-A-Thon, a four to five hour party held twice each year, which has all the local chat hostesses that work out of the company’s headquarters participating.
