LOS ANGELES — Puba and Pornstar Empire have been honored with 2014 XBIZ Award Nominations, the company announced.
The recogniiton marks the most nominations to date for both companies.
Puba Girls Asa Akira and Christy Mack were honored with Performer Site of the Year nominations. For Askira, it is a repeat in the category, while Mack scored top honors in her site's rookie year.
Puba.com was also recognized in the Adult Site of the Year category. Pornstar Empire landed two nominees in the Asian-Themed Release of the Year with both "Backdoor to London" and "I Am Asa 2" were recognized. The studio's most highly honored movie was "SeXXXploitations: Dani Daniels" with three nominations. Puba and Pornstar Empire's in-house director Ivan was also honored as Best Director Non Feature for "SeXXXploitations: Dani Daniels" as well the Director of the Year category for his body of work.
"It is a tremendous honor," Ivan said. "Any time you have your hard work recognized like this it is fulfilling."
In total, Puba received 13 nominations in the following categories: Gonzo Release of the Year; Gonzo Series of the Year; Vignette Release of the Year; Director of the Year - Body of Work; Director of the Year - Non-Feature Release; Best Scene - Non-Feature Release; Best Scene - All-Girl; Best Editing; Themed Release of the Year; Adult Site of the Year; and Performer Site of the Year.
Hosted by adult film superstar Jenna Jameson, the XBIZ Awards ceremony will take place on January 24 in Century City, Calif. amidst the XBIZ 360 event series.
