1st-Ever 'Miss World' Featured in Playboy Magazine

LOS ANGELES — Dublin model Rosanna Davison will be the first-ever Miss World winner to appear on the pages of Playboy magazine’s U.S. edition.

The 29 year-old won the crown in 2003 and will feature in the September issue.

Davison was the cover model for the German magazine last year and is also only the second model who has appeared in a European Playboy to make it into the American edition.

Her layout was reportedly directly commissioned by Playboy founder Hugh Hefner to run in the U.S. edition.

“Shooting again for Playboy would have been amazing and probably a far less nerve-wracking experience the second time around,” Davison wrote in her Sun column.

“But I was really pleased to hear that the Mauritius beach shots would be used. Also, I was in control of every aspect of that shoot and I may not have been given such freedom and choice with a new shoot,” she added.

Davison said she got the call to come to the Playboy mansion last October at Hefner’s request, but couldn’t get to L.A. until last May.

“Driving up to the Playboy Mansion was simply surreal,” Davison said. “We were made to feel welcome there, with pre-dinner drinks, a tour of the house and gardens, a sit-down dinner with Hugh and his wife Crystal and a Charlie Chaplin movie in his own home cinema.”

Davison was treated to a Mansion tour that included the famous grotto. “It was just like heading to a mate’s house for dinner and a movie,” she quipped.

“It is hard to know what the reaction will be like,” she wrote about her layout. “Either way, I’ll have these pictures to look back on when I’m old and grey. Ultimately, I’m proud of myself for pushing my own boundaries.”
