Pure Play Media Opens European Division

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Pure Play Media, which recently filed papers with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission requesting approval to sell stock in the company, has expanded its global reach with the opening of a European division.

Pure Play Media Europe, which has offices in Hamburg, Germany, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pure Play Media Holdings, the parent company to Pure Play Media.

According to Pure Play CEO Richard Arnold and company President Sieg Badke, the division, which will use Hamburg as a central launching point to better serve the European market, will be staffed day-to-day with local employees.

"I am very excited about this territory,” Arnold said. “We have managed to put together some very good staff and open a beautiful and efficient, centrally located office in a very short period of time.”

Tobias Bauer, an experienced adult entertainment and new media advertising executive, will head up European operations for Pure Play Media Europe, serving as president of the company.

“One of the most important aspects of launching a good business is to be in the right place at the right time,” Bauer said. “In times of changing markets, I and our team are glad to have the opportunity to run the European office of a company with strong products and a good reputation.”

The Hamburg office will service the European DVD market as well as Internet video-on-demand, cable and satellite distribution in the region.

With the exceptions of Spain-based Private Media Group and Score Group, which has a long-standing European distribution partner, all present and future Pure Play Media studios will be run through the Hamburg office for European distribution.

According to Arnold, the European division, which will begin distribution in September, will follow the U.S. distribution timeline very closely to create global release dates and global pricing to prevent product from “migrating” between territories.

“We have found that the adult industry is a global business and there are plenty of companies that have learned to take advantage of pricing or street date discrepancies in different territories, so our plan is to neutralize these advantages,” Arnold said. “We also feel that the lines that we carry, Seymore Butts, Cousin Stevie, Naughty America, Suze Randall, Asia Bootleg and Swank Digital are recognized and in demand in Europe and will translate well to that market.”
