DCypher Signs 2-Year Deal With Club Jenna

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Club Jenna missed signing DCypher to an exclusive directing contract last summer when the 10-year industry veteran was shopping around for a deal. But this year when his contract expired with Metro, the Playboy-owned studio stepped up to the plate and signed the filmmaker to a deal.

DCypher signed an exclusive, two-year contract with Club Jenna on Friday that calls for him to direct one feature title per month, he told XBIZ. The contract also is renewable for a third year.

“I’ve known Jay [Grdina] and Jenna [Jameson] for years,” DCypher said. “We always got along and hit it off. I was on the set of ‘Jenna Loves Pain’ and Jay approached me about writing ‘Janine Loves Jenna.’ We talked about some ideas and I wrote it. We both had similar visions of what the movie should look like.”

Last summer, after his feature “Prisoner” came out, DCypher and Grdina talked more extensively about working together. When contract talks stalled, DCypher signed exclusively with Metro, but both parties expressed a desire to work together in the future when the time was right. DCypher’s one-year contract with Metro expired this summer.

“Before Club Jenna was purchased by Playboy, Jay and I ironed out the details of what an exclusive contract would entail,” DCypher said. “We went over a preliminary contract, but what really struck me was Jay’s confidence in my writing and directing abilities. That’s what every artist wants to hear.”

DCypher’s first project under the new deal is “Killer Desire,” which is scheduled to begin shooting this month. The director helmed “Fever Dream” for Club Jenna that starred Jesse Capelli and McKenzie Lee before the exclusive deal was signed.

“Jay just gets it,” DCypher said. “He believes in my projects and wants to get everything right from the start. He supports me as an artist and knows I am continuing to grow. The attention to detail Club Jenna gives to each one of its movies is amazing. Their roster of [exclusive] girls can act and want to be a part of something special.”

DCypher explained that he’s wanted to combine the story-porn genre, with intense wall-to-wall action since he started in the business, and the platform and budgets he will receive from Club Jenna will help him create his visions exactly as he intended.

“This deal is the culmination of all the things I’ve wanted to achieve in this business,” DCypher said. “I have the tremendous backing of the biggest name in adult, and the freedom to create shows that we’ll both be proud of for a long time to come. I couldn’t be happier.”
