Craig Brittain Says He Is Retiring From Revenge Porn, Shutters 2 Sites

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Colorado-based revenge porn sites ObamaNudes.com and IsAnyBodyDown.com were shuttered by their own co-owner, Craig Brittain.

"I wanted to turn towards peace and love and a respectful occupation, which is why I closed the websites down," Brittain wrote on a Twitter post.

In another Twitter post, Brittain announced that he does not plan to relaunch any more revenge porn sites.

"Smart move on his part," adult entertainment attorney Marc Randazza told XBIZ. "I question the sincerity of his contrition though."

Revenge porn is a recent phenomenon and online category where website operators post nude or erotic images of women or men without their consent.

Brittain obtained photos mostly by tricking victims into thinking they were sending photos to dating sites or an individual through Craigslist, local Colorado news service News 5 reported.

The uploaded photos were generally accompanied by links to the unassuming party’s social media profiles, and, in many cases, included their cellphone number.

While State Attorney General John Suthers’ spokesperson said Suthers did not intend to investigate the 28-year-old’s operations, the Colorado Springs Police Department and Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s Office both had Britain on their radar.

Brittain is not currently facing any criminal charges.

Brittains’s websites also hosted advertisements for New York attorney David Blade III, who would remove victims’ photos and personal information for a nominal fee of $250. News 5 ran an independent investigation that exposed Blade as a fictitious persona.

"Blade's" website and IsAnybodyDown.com shared the same IP address and were hosted by the same server.
