LOS ANGELES — A hardcore sex tape featuring Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis and his longtime girlfriend Abbey Wilson has been leaked and is currently being shopped to various media outlets, TMZ and other news services reported.
Sources allege that the footage, taken several weeks ago, was ripped from Wilson’s iPad, which was stolen from her at LAX.
Francis told TMZ that he was not involved with the release of the tape and is “desperately trying to stop it from going public.”
"It is not only unfortunate, but it is a crime,” said David Houston, Francis’ lawyer. “As such, this office will take all necessary steps to determine who in fact has done this and who is attempting to distribute the video.
"When we catch you, we will see that you are prosecuted to the fullest extent of both the criminal and civil laws."
Wilson won the Girls Gone Wild "Search for the Hottest Girl in America" contest in 2012.
Francis was recently convicted of misdemeanor accounts of assault and false imprisonment and is awaiting sentencing.
