New Date for Measure B Court Hearing — July 1

LOS ANGELES — U.S. District Judge Dean Pregerson this morning approved plans to extend the hearing date for Vivid Entertainment's motion for preliminary injunction in its Measure B suit by seven days.

A June 24 hearing date has been moved to July 1 at 10 a.m. at federal court in Los Angeles, Pregerson ordered today.

Both parties agreed to extend the hearing by a week, partly because Vivid attorney Paul Cambria has an appearance in another case in federal court in Pennsylvania on June 24.

At the hearing, Pregerson also will hear the AIDS Healthcare Foundation's proposed motion to dismiss. The AHF earlier had been approved as intervenors in defense of the suit against Los Angeles County.

The motion to dismiss and the motion for preliminary injunction will be heard at the same July 1 hearing for "efficiency's sake"

In Vivid's motion for preliminary injunction, its counsel said that the defendants, the county and the Public Health director, have repeatedly rejected requests to not enforce Measure B during the pendency of the case.

Vivid and two adult performers, Kayden Kross and Logan Pierce, filed their suit in January at U.S. District Court in Los Angeles to seek injunctive relief over enforcement of Measure B, Los Angeles County's Safer Sex in the Adult Film Industry Act.
