Katie K Celebrates Mainstream Project, 'The Look of Love'

LONDON — British adult star Katie K acted alongside Hollywood A-lister Steve Coogan in the mainstream indie drama, “The Look of Love,” attracting tabloid buzz in London.

"I was trained in acting since I was five, so the chance to do something on the silver screen and see it come to life is a dream come true,” Katie K said.

The Studio Canal film starring Coogan, Anna Friel, Stephen Fry, Matt Lucas and Imogen Poots, portraits the life and times of Paul Raymond (Coogan), a British adult entrepeneur who began his career as a mind reader in a cabaret act and eventually became a strip club tycoon.

Katie K plays Hayley, an exotic dancer at one of Raymond’s clubs. In the film, Hayley and another dancer end up having a ménage-a-trois with the famed porn baron.

“It's funny to think that I'm more used to having real sex filmed in bed than having to act in one.” Katie K quipped about the scene.

The blonde Brit told XBIZ that she, fittingly, found out about the auditions for the movie through Paul Raymond Publications, where she has been featured regularly. She missed the auditions “whilst on holiday,” and "didn't really think about it."

But, in a twist of kind fate, the casting directors called her and asked her to come to London to meet the film’s director, Michael Winterbottom, who wanted to give Katie K a part.

“A week after meeting him I was getting my hair and makeup done, my costume fitted and sat drinking champagne on set with Steve Coogan!” Katie K said. “It was really crazy how fast everything happened.”

“The Look of Love” recently debuted in the UK and is slated for wide release in the coming weeks.

Katie K was nominated by XBIZ in 2013 for Foreign Female Performer of the Year; her site was nominated by XBIZ for Performer Site of the Year in the same year. She recently became a part of Vicky Vette's Vette Nation Army Network and plans to pursue more mainstream acting in the future.
