LOS ANGELES — Ron Jeremy made his first statement to his friends and fans on Wednesday, saying that he's doing "very well" in his recovery from emergency heart surgery a week ago.
"Thank you all for the concern and well wishes, I'm doing very well thanks to modern technology," Jeremy said, according to his manager/agent Mike Esterman.
Esterman added, "He's doing quite well, alert and cracking jokes. He personally wanted to get this picture and message out to the world. He's touched and delighted by the outpouring of support from fans and media alike."
Jeremy underwent two heart surgeries on Jan. 30, and is now recuperating at Cedars-Sinai hospital. The 59-year-old porn icon is expected to be at the hospital for a least another week.
Jeremy is the global star of more than 2,000 adult films. He drove himself to Cedars-Sinai on Jan. 29 after suffering from severe chest pains, and an aneurysm was discovered near his heart.
