LOS ANGELES — Veteran producer/director Kevin Moore reached a career milestone with his new release “The Hooker Experience,” which is his first DVD title to come out under the Evil Angel premium banner.
Moore, who has worked in just about every aspect of production for numerous companies since he started his porn career in 2000, said he realized a vision in producing, directing and performing in every scene in “The Hooker Experience," which hits the streets on Jan. 30.
“It’s my favorite thing I’ve done,” Moore told XBIZ Thursday. “It’s been on my mind for many, many years. At the time when I first had the idea, [DSLR cameras] didn’t exist, so getting that cinematic quality wasn’t possible.”
Moore said he had always been intrigued with exploring the underworld of hookers and escorts. His approach was to go deeper than the mere sex act and transaction.
“It’s meant to be psychological,” said Moore, who devoted extensive time and effort to the set-ups for each of the scenes. “This is about the whole process of going to see an escort, finding her on Internet, talking to her, talking to her booker, driving to her hotel, and the whole experience. Once DSLR’s came around, I started thinking I could probably do that kind of movie. So I took a huge gamble and shot this. [Evil Angel founder John Stagliano] seemed to really like it.”
Moore said he took a leap with his elaborate set-ups and multi-layered scenes in what ultimately became a two-disc set that also includes a behind-the-scenes segment and an interview with him.
“All the scenes are about an hour long, so it could be that people don’t find it as interesting as I do. That’s part of the gamble, that maybe it just doesn’t connect,” Moore allowed. “But for me, I like the idea of a girl getting money for sex. I think it’s hot. Let’s be honest, it’s taboo. It’s wrong. I really wanted to play that up.”
Because the running theme in “The Hooker Experience” involves money changing hands for sex acts, “the money is fetishized," Moore said.
“The money becomes an actual element,” he explained. “The girls talk about it while they’re having sex. They talk about it when elements of the scene progress beyond the normal sex acts. In Gia DiMarco’s scene, we throw in some anal. There are negotiations based upon where the popshot takes place. There’s a power element there.”
“The Hooker Experience” showcases point-of-view sex through Moore's eyes, but he noted that “it’s not your typical POV movie.”
“I don’t think there is anything similar to it,” Moore added. “It’s all shot in high-end hotels.”
Billed by Evil Angel as a "POV feature," the cast includes Jada Stevens, India Summer, Maddy O’Reilly, Yurizan Beltran and DiMarco.
Evil Angel General Manager Christian Mann said the POV feature format of "The Hooker Experience" is a new concept that Moore is pioneering.
“This is a story-driven feature with connected scenes. It’s not gonzo, yet it’s 100 percent POV," Mann reasoned. "Most POV shooting puts the viewer in the position of the guy having sex. This does that, plus it gives the viewer the feeling that he’s the character experiencing the story. When Kevin showed me the first cut of the trailer, I was sold. He made a great movie, and Gia DiMarco is worth whatever price she’s demanding. But nothing I can say will be as effective in conveying ‘the experience’ as one click on the trailer link.”

Moore noted the whole story is based on "an actual website." He called the performance of Mann’s favorite, DiMarco, “really great,” and added, “Jada Stevens was amazing. All the scenes are fucking good.”
He is also no stranger to producing for Evil Angel, releasing kinky series as “Panty Pops," "Spandex Loads," "Tan Lines" and “Titty Creampies” for Evil Angel’s Buttman Choice line of fetish-oriented specialty videos. "The Hooker Experience" will definitely be an ongoing series, he said.
Moore, who releases two titles a month through Evil Angel, will next release a new version of “Obedience School.”
