Peekay Holds Annual Pajama Party Benefit for Abuse Victims

AUBURN, Wash. — Peekay Inc. held its eighth annual Pajama Party on Wednesday to benefit the women and children victims of domestic and sexual abuse.

Peekay founders and staff donated to multiple charities more than 150 gift bags containing bathrobes, undergarments, apparel and a variety of toiletries.

This year's beneficiaries included ACAP Child and Family Services of Auburn, SafePlace Olympia, Children of the Night of Southern California and Mary’s Place, a Seattle-based non-profit day center for women and children.

"This is one small way that we help to ensure a measure of happiness and cheer gets spread around a bit,” Peekay founder and COB Phyllis Heppenstall said.

“Our employees are always excited to participate in this volunteer program every year, and we are pleased that every year we are able to add more PJ bags."

Peekay, Inc., founded in 1981 by Heppenstall and her daughter Kris Butt, operates 33 stores in Washington, California and Oregon under the Lovers, A Touch of Romance, and ConRev brands.
