Urgexotica Store Goes Live

MIAMI — Looking to give surfers an opportunity to purchase films from the company’s official site, Urgexotica has partnered with e-tailer Gamelink to create a custom shopping experience.

Gamelink will carry the complete library of Urgexotica movies. The studio has 12 films on the market, with the hopes of releasing 36 more by the end of the year.

“We’re looking to launch our members area with four different content sites by September,” Urgexotica’s co-founder Rick Cuban told XBIZ. “So we wanted to get started on the e-commerce end of the site before we start launching other projects.”

HotMovies.com also provides a custom video-on-demand theater for Urgexotica, but Gamelink will serve as the company’s official online store.

“We had been using a few different options with merchant accounts, but we just decided with their experience and reputation, Gamelink was the way to go,” Cuban said.

The South Beach-based operation makes Latina girls the bread and butter of its DVD content. If you live in Miami, you have to love Latina women Cuban said. The company also goes on location to South and Central America to find the content girls that don’t make their way to Miami.

“Our next big release features the sensuous women of Buenos Aires,” Cuban said. “We’re also going to be releasing our first feature, ‘Rooftops,’ shot on location in New York, which tells the story of a boy meeting a girl on a city bus, then taking her up to a rooftop to have sex. There is a storyline and dialogue in this movie, and it has a gritty, urban feel that only New York City could provide.”

Urgexotica also will be releasing content for iPod and Sony PSP in the coming months.
