For Jennifer James, president of JFF, the increased production capacity gives the company an edge for its audio offerings.
“In addition to our three hi-def editing bays, we now have a full Pro-Tools Audio-equipped bay that allows us to provide foreign language dubbing, fixes and audio cleaning to the adult industry,” James said. “We are one of the few all-hi-def facilities that understand the needs of the adult industry and actually cater our services to adult producers.”
To better exploit the market for multilanguage product with its audio offerings, James supplemented her equipment buys with the hiring of Ray Cathode, an audio technician with more than 20 years experience in mainstream audio post production dubbing and fixes.
“He’s a great tech,” James said. “We can now offer adult producers the ability to turn out superior product while expanding their sales into international markets and for a better price than they usually pay for editing.”
James launched her post production branch in January as a service to other adult studios when she learned that many adult companies shooting in hi-def weren’t editing in the format because the process was too complicated.
“If you’ve already spent the money to film in hi-def, you don’t want to dilute that by turning out inferior product due to dated editing equipment,” James said.
