KANE COUNTY, Ill. — Former Playboy and video game model Kerri Hoskins-Branson is looking to secure a seat on the Kane County Board District.
The 42-year-old democrat, a personal trainer and married mother of four, is running on the platforms of farmland preservation and children's health initiatives.
Known primarily for her portrayal of femme fatal Sonya Blade in the "Mortal Kombat" video game franchise (circa '95-to'97), Branson's past also includes numerous appearances in Playboy's "Book of Lingerie," "Girls of Summer," "Bathing Beauties" and "Nudes."
She tells gaming site Kotaku.com, "If I am asked about my modeling career, I intend to answer proudly and candidly. I am not hiding anything in the least bit. My past careers have gotten me to this point in my life and I am very thankful for that.
"I welcome any media surrounding my past, it just hasn't come up and not one newspaper or interviewer has asked. I am not running to start a political career; I am running to create awareness on the issues I think are important."
The Kane County Board District 18 elections will take place Nov. 6.
