“It’s part of our continuing mission to explore brand-new girls around the world,” Elegant Angel Marketing Director Graham told XBIZ. “Patrick’s general feeling is that girls in the U.S. and [some] parts of Europe are overused. What he loves is that spark of sincere eroticism, and it’s harder to find that when girls work so much. I know that he also has plans to explore Argentina, too, at some stage.”
Collins often has said that he is a fan first and got into the business to create porn that he would want to watch. If that requires a few trips halfway around the world, so be it. Elegant Angel, which is distributed in Europe by Sunset Media, has contacts with talent agencies in the region but will focus on recruiting girls independently.
“Everyone knows who the biggest girls in Europe are because they have such a high profile,” Graham said. “Everyone knows who Angel Dark and Julie Silver are, for instance. But part of the plan in Romania also is to proposition girls who don’t work in the industry with the opportunity to shoot a scene. It’s much more difficult to do, but far more rewarding for us and our fans when we can pull it off.”
Of course, working directly with girls in a foreign country means being extra thorough about medical testing and checking IDs.
Collins plans to produce a handjob movie during the trip, offering retailers a more tease-oriented alternative to “the more extreme sex acts that consumers get bombarded with regularly.” He also realizes it may be easier to recruit new girls to do handjob scenes that full sex. However, if the schedule permits and girls are willing, he and William H. may also produce a full-sex title.
The company will promote its European content, as well as most of its upcoming releases, through the Internet.
“With the launch of ElegantAngelVIP.com in the next few months, and the continuing improvements we’ve made to our online presence, I think that increasingly our promotional strategies will be web based,” Graham said. “There will be trailers available at our official site, and information sent out to press and distributors. We also have a message forum where fans can interact with our team and get information about our latest titles, plus offer feedback and suggestions.”
