Recognizing the need to stay competitive in the shrinking print publication market, Cheri Editor-in-Chief Robert Errera felt that a DVD would help the Blue Horizon-owned magazine protect its niche among what he termed the big-three porn magazines — Playboy, Penthouse and Hustler.
“We started as a big-boob magazine a long time ago,” Errera told XBIZ. “But we’re really about being hot and current. We used to cover a lot of strippers; now we’re all about covering the latest girls on the porn scene.”
In fact, the magazine’s slogan is: “Where the porn stars come to play,” making the DVD a natural fit, according to Errera.
The five-scene DVD features Vanessa Lane, Sandra Romain, Dillan Lauren, Hillary Scot and Marie Luv.
TightFit Productions produced the DVD for Cheri and, according to Errera, more DVDs will find their way into the magazine’s pages in the months to come.
“We’ve made four DVDs so far,” Errera said.” They’re all really hot, and I think the readers will enjoy them. Obviously it’s a tough publishing environment, but I think we’re holding our own and the DVDs help a lot.”
The anniversary edition features Vivid contract girl Lacie Heart on the cover as well as pictures and an interview with Tyra Banxxx about her appearance on the “Tyra Banks Show.”
