For Angel, who is best known for witty, alternative-styled feature films, the decision to go gonzo represented a turning point in the growth of her young company, which recently signed a distribution deal with Pulse Distribution.
“With the Pulse deal, it was important for us to find a way to put out a certain amount of product, while still being happy with the material,” Angel told XBIZ. “I’ve always loved gonzo. People often forget that porn is about people having sex.”
The film, which has music by Buckcherry, features the usual assortment of gonzo sex scenes, from anal, to threeway, to interracial, to ATM and cumshots. But those looking for a typical gonzo film should look elsewhere, according to Angel, who stressed that “Cum On My Tattoo” would be something different.
“Humor is a big part of what we’re about,” Angel said. “People have often thought of us as being about girls with an alt look, although this is our first film that explicitly brands the girls as having tattoos. We’ve been finding our voice, which is about making people laugh and getting them off at the same time.”
Angel, who said she hopes to see the line reach the level of lines popularized by Randy West and Ed powers, hopes to release one title per month.
“Eventually I’ll hire other directors,” Angel said. “But for now I’m focused on establishing what the line is all about.”
The film, which Angel shot in New York, stars Angel along with Pixie Pearl, Pinky Lee and Kylee Kross.
“Cum On My Tattoo” will be available in stores May 29.
