CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Smash Pictures has set an Aug. 16 release date for director Jim Powers' "Diary of Love: A XXX Romance Adaptation of the 'Notebook.'"

The adaptation, an erotic re-imagining of best-selling author Nicholas Sparks' debut romance novel, about a star-crossed couple's heart wrenching, love-conquers-all relationship, is toplined by newcomer Presley Hart and adult-features star Richie Calhoun.

According to producer Stuart Wall, "Diary of Love" will re-imagine key romantic scenes from Sparks' story, including those set an amusement park Ferris wheel and on a lake in a rowboat.

"Diary of Love" is Smash Pictures' second offering from its new line of romantic films, following the studio's earnest relationship drama "Forever Love-Trust.” In September, the company will release its eagerly awaited send-up of author E.L. James' erotic "Fifty Shades" trilogy.

"Diary of Love: A XXX Romance Adaptation of 'The Notebook'" costars Lily Labeau, Lia Lor, Kimberly Kane, Logan Pierce and Johnny Castle. The film's NSFW trailer can be seen here.
