Paradise a photographer, who shot for Leg Show and High Society, teamed with Chris Field, an illustrator who he had worked with in the magazine world. The duo joined Stitch, a veteran editor from Bizarre and Extreme Associates, and his wife, model/performer Alicia Angel.
The quartet is working on three lines of product to kickoff operations at Corruption. Lines include “Paint the Face,” which Paradise describes as POV facials with gonzo-style setups but more sophisticated camera angles, and a yet-to-be named bondage series with a New York-underground feel. However, the flagship line will feature Paradise himself, in what the self-described 40-year-old film student calls “Max Paradise Random Acts of Perversion.”
“This series is a tongue-and-cheek look at porn,” Paradise told XBIZ. “I approach a lot of girls around the country at roadsides and pools, that kind of thing, but it’s not the standard boy/girl stuff. There are a lot of insider jokes, and it’s almost like an education for viewers because we mix in a little bit of everything in the series, from voyeurism to bondage, so they can find something new that they like.”
While educating consumers about different genres will be a staple for the new company, the business model is geared to creating a model-friendly environment, according to Paradise.
“If possible, we like to keep the models working, that’s important to us,” Paradise said. “A lot of times a girl does a film, and then there’s nothing for her for a while. Since we have an Internet presence, we have a way to keep the model working as often as possible.”
While the company plans to release four titles per month — shot in high-definition using a Sony FX1 camera — the hope is to take advantage of the synergy between the company’s Internet and DVD ventures. In addition to the company’s main website, each line will have a website.
MaxParadise.com and PaintTheFace.com are currently in operation.
As for adding a contract girl to the roster, Paradise concedes that they are always on the lookout. However, as he points out, finding the right girl is like finding “a diamond in the rough.”
