HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — An Adam&Eve.com survey has found that a third of American adults admitted that they’ve watched a celebrity sex tape.
The findings include the popular sex tapes of Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Kendra Wilkinson and more.
The web-based survey, conducted by an independent third party survey company, of more than 1,000 American adults age 18 and up, was sponsored by Adam & Eve to study sexual preferences and practices.
While 66 percent of the respondents said they have not watched a celebrity sex tape, and 1 percent refused to answer, Adam & Eve said the number who admits to viewing this particular genre of adult entertainment is significant.
“We all have curiosities about sex — and we all have curiosities about celebrities,” Adam & Eve’s resident sex expert, Dr. Kat Van Kirk said.
She added, “When you put those two together it creates a lot of intrigue. Of course, celebrities aren’t doing anything different from what you or I do. They’re just doing it in front of the camera. For some couples, seeing someone they would not expect (to see) enjoying sex can open up communication or acceptance for certain acts.”
The company said it has experienced “huge sales” in the celebrity DVD market.
“From mild to wild, Adam & Eve has something for everyone’s taste and comfort level,” Chad Davis, director of marketing said.
