B. Skow Leaves Vivid, Starts New Line

LOS ANGELES — Adult entertainment director B. Skow is parting ways with Vivid Entertainment and launching his new studio, Skow Digital.

After a relationship spanning almost 20 years, the award-winning director said he is eager to branch out and begin directing projects on his own terms.

Skow told XBIZ, "I was at Vivid for a long time and learned a lot, but it was time for a change. I've always wanted to make my own product — for myself, not for another company."

He added, "I've had all these movie ideas I've wanted to execute but was unable to working within the parameters of a major studio. Now with my own company I can make the titles I think will sell. Skow Digital gives me the freedom to produce exactly the movies I want to make."

Plans for the director's future projects will include story-driven features, gonzo, vignettes, and niche porn.

“My first time ever on a porn set was 20 years ago when I caught a glimpse of Janine and Julia Ann shooting a box cover for Vivid,”  Skow said.  “From that moment, I was hooked. I am eternally thankful to Vivid for helping me grow in my career.  I greatly appreciate all the knowledge and experience I gained.”

A photographer for popular celebrity and adult magazines, Skow began directing adult movies for Vivid in 2005. Over the years he has earned an impressively diverse number of award nominations including Best Director and Best Screenplay, as well as noms in categories including blockbuster features, amateur, gonzo, parodies, and vignettes.

Details on Skow Digital's distribution plans will be announced soon.

Skow’s complete filmography can be seen on IMDB.com.
