Started a year ago in New Brunswick, Canada, Temptation News is a fan-focused publication that offers DVD reviews, interviews and adult industry news.
“We had originally planned the awards show to take place in Vancouver, but decided it would be easier and we’d have a better turnout in L.A.,” Temptation News president George Whitty told XBIZ. “Also, since most of the adult industry is based in L.A., it’s a great introduction for us, especially since we’re planning a Canadian adult industry convention for next year.”
The show features a red carpet arrival, cocktail party, musical entertainment and a four-course meal prepared by hotel chefs. Hot Movies and E-Omega Solutions have signed on as sponsors.
Pre-nominations for the video categories opened April 28. To be eligible for consideration, the movie must have been released between April 1, 2005, and April 30, 2006.
The nominations and awards are voted on by Temptation News staff and are individually judged on a numerical scale. The movies with the highest combined scores become the nominees. The staff then undertakes the same judging criteria and process to determine the winners.
Whitty mentioned Wicked contract star Jessica Drake as a possible awards show host. The company also plans to book Canadian musical acts or standup comedians to entertain guests throughout the evening.
