LOS ANGELES — Good For Her’s annual Feminist Porn Awards have nominated projects by Severe Society Films, including the first offerings by DVD collaborator PaddedKINK.
The Good For Her Feminist Porn Awards have been celebrating feminist porn since 2006.
“We decided that it’s not enough to criticize adult films for not adequately representing women’s — and in many cases, men’s — sexuality," Good For Her said.
"So we decided to do something about it. As feminists and sex-positive people, we want to showcase and honour those who are creating erotic media with a feminist sensibility. Overall, Feminist Porn Award winners tend to show movies that consider a female viewer from start to finish. This means that you are more likely to see active desire and consent, real orgasms, and women taking control of their own fantasies (even when that fantasy is to hand over that control).”
These are Severe Society Films’ first FPA nominations. PaddedKINK won a 2011 Feminist Porn Award for its membership site and has two DVD titles nominated this year. Severe Society Films is nominated for "The Adventures of Evil Dia" (also a recent AVN award nominee for Best BDSM Release).

"Evil Dia" is co-directed by Zerva and Severe Society's co-owner Jimmy Broadway. PaddedKINK’s nominations are for “Padded Submissives,” which features April Flores, Courtney Trouble, Goddess Helena, Kitty Stryker, Cinnamon Maxine and PaddedKINK owner/director Kelly Shibari in scenes that include strap-on sex, tickle fetish, bondage and forced orgasms.
Their second offering, “A Night at Kinky General,” is also nominated, and features Goddess Helena and Oliver Hyde in a female-to-male sexual reassignment surgery scene that ends with masturbation instruction.
A bonus scene of Kelly Shibari and Sebastian Wood in a dental fetish scene is included.
“Good For Her and the Feminist Porn Awards celebrate a segment of the porn industry that has grown and most definitely shouldn’t be ignored,” Shibari said. “More and more strong, confident feminists are coming forward each year and showcasing creative, boundary-pushing adult entertainment. I’m most definitely excited to be nominated alongside these fierce, fabulous artists.”
The 2012 Feminist Porn Awards will be held April 18-21 in Toronto, Canada, with the awards gala held on Friday, April 20.
