Obenberger Firm's XXXLaw.com Gets Unveiled

CHICAGO — The law firm of J.D. Obenberger and Associates has launched XXXLaw.com, a compendium of legal resources and links for the adult entertainment industry.

XXXLaw.com is a major update that succeeds 11-year-old site XXXLaw.net and "took 1-1/2 years to add cases and comment on them, many of which appear nowhere else online in a public site, " well-known adult entertainment attorney Joe Obenberger told XBIZ.

There are "materials such as the results of DOJ FOIA requests that have never been seen by the public before, and many new articles," he said.

XXXLaw.com, with its slick new look, includes a news section, as well as entire sections on 18 § U.S.C. 2257, federal and state laws, copyright and the definition of obscenity. It also includes various articles, some dating back to the 1990s, and cases of particular interest to adult industry business professionals.

"The massive '2257 Primer' itself took six months to write, or more accurately, to update from a 2006 piece," Obenberger said. "It's just about a book in size. I've added the Bieyanka Moore saga to the Traci Lords narrative as an object lesson about why it is that 2257 does not work."

The Chicago Loop law office of  J.D. Obenberger and Associates includes another high-profile attorney — Reed Lee, who also is a board member of the Free Speech Coalition.

The office calls itself "a law firm devoted to liberty," and the newly launched site includes a video testimonial by Obenberger that describes just that: "We seek to fight for freedom and liberty and fight like hell every time the government tries to put up a barrier to human liberty ... which is constant. It is the natural tendency of government to regulate more and more and more. It is the the job of a patriot to fight for freedom and to fight against the government doing it."
