Channel 1 Releasing Purchases All Worlds Video

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Channel 1 Releasing, home to Chi Chi LaRue, has acquired All Worlds Video, the legendary gay porn company founded in the 1980s by Rick Ford, aka Dirk Yates.

The acquisition gives Channel 1 full ownership of All Worlds’ prolific adult library.

LaRue, who began her career directing for All Worlds, has helmed some of the company’s biggest hits including the “Link” series, and is credited with discovering Joey Stefano, Alex Stone, Johnny Hazzard and Zak Spears.

The success and notoriety followed LaRue to Channel 1 due to the Rascal Video line. “Wrong Side of the Tracks” won the 2006 GAYVN award for Best Picture.

With its purchase of All Worlds, Channel 1 becomes the largest gay-owned and-operated adult entertainment company.

“Eight years ago when Chi Chi started with Channel 1, I saw how people thought it would be just a flash in the pan, but the company has grown into one of the major players in the industry,” All Worlds founder Yates said. “I am excited by the ideas they have, their skills in the ever changing technology of media delivery and their enthusiasm in continuing the work of so many creative people that have passed through our doors.”

Since its inception, All Worlds has won numerous awards for its lavish productions, including “The Seven Deadly Sins” series, “Kiss-Off,” “Playing With Fire” and “Desperate Husbands.”

“All Worlds was really one of the first major studios I worked for,” LaRue said. “With the help of Rick Ford I was able to produce some amazing movies for this company. He [Ford] created a genre of amateur video that has often been imitated, but not duplicated. Now I have the opportunity to ensure the enduring legacy of his great company.”

Ford will continue to make his imprint in future business endeavors by All Worlds, including continuing to produce his Dirk Yates video line. He also was honored in 2006 with the GAYVN Lifetime Achievement Award.
