Michelle Maylene Lands Role in Vin Diesel's 'The Ropes'

LOS ANGELES — Adult star Michelle Maylene appears in the first season of Vin Diesel’s new original series about the lives of nightclub bouncers called “The Ropes,” which debuted last week on Netflix, Crackle and Itunes.

Maylene plays an entitled party girl named Hannah in Episode 4 of the series, which was created by Diesel, who is also the executive producer. Diesel draws upon his actual experiences as a bouncer in New York City before he became an actor for the gritty material in "The Ropes," which is being distributed by Fox Digital Entertainment.

The 25-year-old Maylene has performed in more than 100 adult movies since 2005. She now only does softcore modeling and feature dancing while she pursues various mainstream opportunities. In January, Maylene hosted the winner's circle at the 10th annual XBIZ Awards, interviewing the winners as they came off stage at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

She said she was booked for “The Ropes” through her mainstream agency GLA after Samantha Vincent, the co-executive producer, saw her on the Cinemax series “Co-Ed Confidential,” where she has played the lead character Karen for four seasons.

“I’m just really excited about it,” Maylene told XBIZ. “Just to have my name attached to such a big project with this cast and crew, it’s been really surreal for me to be a part of this.”

In Episode 4 Maylene shares a steamy scene with one of the series’ main characters Ralphie, a troubled bouncer played by Joel Rush.

“I play a club girl who all the bouncers have a crush on,” Maylene said. “My entrance is me cutting through the line like a bitchy party girl, which is totally not like myself — but fun.”

Once Ralphie escorts Maylene’s character inside he takes her to a dimly lit storage room in the back of the club. With her character feeling like she's getting the VIP treatment, "I jump onto a poker table and I do this striptease for him,” Maylene said.

“Joel Rush plays this ’roided-out, coked-out, pretty-boy bouncer who’s like a Guido as well," she continued. "And he gets crazy and rips his clothes off and attacks me.”

The characters then have a quick sexual encounter with only their faces shown. Coincidentally, Maylene and Rush briefly dated in real life a few years ago.

Maylene said she’ll be attending “The Ropes” premiere party this Thursday night at Lucky Strike Bowling at Hollywood & Highland. The red carpet starts at 7 p.m. for the party which is open to the public.
