Deutsche Telekom in Penthouse HD IPTV Deal

BOCA RATON, Fla. — FriendFinder Networks is expanding its Penthouse HD footprint in Europe by announcing a deal Monday with Deutsche Telekom to stream its content on IPTV in Germany.

Deutsche Telekom will initially roll out Penthouse HD-branded content on its IPTV service, Entertain, but later in the spring the carriage agreement will expand to include VOD services.

"We are very excited about adding to the existing Penthouse channel lineup," said Marc Bell, FriendFinder's CEO, in a statement.  "Our goal remains to provide the viewer with the highest-quality content possible on one of the premium platforms in Europe. "

Jacky Wauters, independent sales agent/CEO of NOA productions, who represents Penthouse HD  channels in Europe said, "Sales of HD hardware including HD television and HD-enabled set-top boxes have been on the rise for quite some time in Europe resulting in high consumer demand for top-quality HD programming."

"The internationally recognizable Penthouse brand is perfectly positioned to capitalize on this vital piece of the broadcast market," he said.

FriendFinder execs said that Penthouse HD's suite of channels — Penthouse HD, Penthouse HD1, Penthouse HD2 and Penthouse 3D — now reach 300 million households globally.
