LOS ANGELES — ATK (Amateur Teen Kingdom) and AMKingdom.com owner Kim Nielsen will receive XBIZ’s prestigious Web Industry Pioneer Award. The honor will be presented to Nielsen at the 2012 XBIZ Awards show at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on Jan. 10.

The Pioneer Award distinguishes Nielsen as an influential leader in the adult industry through his commitment to providing sex-positive content for consenting adults, while maintaining the highest level of professional ethics, integrity, and corporate social responsibility.
Nielsen remarked, “I am extremely appreciative of the recognition from XBIZ. We’ve managed to achieve great success in the adult arena because we apply marketing science principles to what we do and focus entirely on consumers. We remain profitable, while promoting positive depictions of sexuality and avoiding unscrupulous business practices such as pre-checked cross-sells.”
“It is important to me to acknowledge ATK’s success is attributed to a team effort,” continued Nielsen. “The award is shared by all our employees and recognizes their many contributions, as well as those of our business partners, photographers, and models working with our sites and production studios.”
ATK’s award-winning network of websites began while Nielsen was a doctoral student. One of his Ph.D. seminars frequently focused on the applicability of the Internet as a medium for data collection for doctoral dissertations, research, etc. During his research, Nielsen was continually amazed at the tremendous traffic volume adult websites generated. He observed most sites were not doing a great job of target marketing and positioning. Feeling he could do a better job than most, Nielsen started segmenting the market from there, and ATK so evolved.
Previous education and work experience provided the perfect foundation for Nielsen to begin developing ATK’s sites. He holds a Bachelors degree in business administration from University of Washington, a MBA in marketing from University of Michigan, Executive Education in Strategic Marketing from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, and a Ph.D. in marketing from University of Florida. Nielsen taught courses in Principles of Marketing, Quantitative Methods for Business, Personal Selling and Sales Force Management and E-Commerce at undergraduate and MBA levels.
Nielsen worked for several years at General Motors in the Advanced Marketing Methodologies department before being promoted to Manager of Market Research for GMC’s Truck Division and later to Program Manager of the GM Syclone and Typhoon high performance truck programs. During his employment at GM, Nielsen developed and validated new tools for conducting market research. It was there he truly learned how to understand and cater to consumer trends.
Taking the knowledge, Nielsen created his own high performance motor shop in Michigan, lending to his entrepreneurial experience. After returning to school and receiving a PhD, Nielsen launched ATK, growing the company from one site operated off a single PC to one of the most lucrative, respected, and sexy network of websites in the world.

2012 looks to be a big year for Nielsen and his companies. Principal photography recently wrapped on “Revenge of the Petites,” from Nielsen’s new adult feature film studio, AMKingdom.com.
Written and directed by Harry Sparks, “Revenge of the Petites” will be one of the largest adult releases in 2012. The nine-day shoot included a cast of 22 adult performers, 30 extras, and 25 crew members. “Revenge of the Petites” notably redefines adult entertainment as the first feature to merge niche markets like petites, hairy and exotic with traditional adult elements.
In “Revenge of the Petites,” petite and nerdy Marie and her best friend Skin embark on their freshman year of college. They soon realize college life is not as easy as it seems. Subjected to the taunts, teasing and practical jokes of the tall and beautiful girls of Theta House, led by the vicious Vanessa, Marie and her friends are left with no choice but to join a sorority for other petite girls. When one cruel, practical joke by the girls of Theta House goes too far, the petites have enough. With the help of a former member of Theta House, the petites set out to get their revenge in the hilarious and heartfelt coming of age story with an adult twist.
Rare for an adult film, “Revenge of the Petites” features an extremely large cast of top adult performers.
