Michael Lucas to Speak at Q-Me Con 2006

NEW YORK — Lucas Entertainment founder and President Michael Lucas has been added to the speaker lineup of the 2006 Queer Media and Entertainment Conference (Q-Me Con), the first multiday conference and expo designed for industry professionals working in content creation for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender markets.

“We are lucky to have secured Michael Lucas for this panel,” Q-Me Con 2006 Executive Producer John Baez said. “Aside from being one of the most successful gay adult content producers in the world, Michael is a brilliant businessman. He knows the importance of creative marketing and strategic partnerships while foreseeing, and capitalizing on, the impact that new technology is having on adult media distribution.”

Q-Me Con will take place April 14-16 at the Tribeca Cinemas in New York City and offers seminars and workshops on creating GBLT content for both TV and digital media.

Lucas will be a panelist on a seminar titled, “The Digital Skin Trade: Creating & Distributing Adult Content,” April 16 at 3:15 p.m. Other panelists include Kelly Burkhardt, director of production at TLA Releasing, Tony Comstock, founder of Comstock Films and Lisa Vandever, co-founder of CineKink.

Lucas said he plans to discuss the pros and cons of working in the adult entertainment industry and the technological advances that are changing production and distribution.

Other seminars scheduled for the show include “The DIY Generation: Creating and Distributing Your Indie Digital Content,” “Tech Talk: Making the Most Out of Digital Production & Post” and “Podcasting, Vlogging & Videostreaming: Using the Web to Broadcast Your Queer Content,” among others.

In addition to seminars, Q-me Con will feature industry-oriented exhibitor spaces and networking parties for digital content creators.
