Samson, a Vivid contract girl, who starred in “The New Devil in Miss Jones,” teamed with Robert Cipresso, an Italian winemaker, who makes wines for the Vatican. The introduction was made by Samson’s husband, a wine merchant.
Robert Parker, who many claim to be the most respected wine critic in the industry, praised the wine, which featured a blend of grapes chosen by Sampson. While the bottle for Sogno Uno 2004 depicts Samson in a see-through gown, Parker was quick to point out that his score reflected the red wine’s substance, not the bottle art.
“Trust me, I didn’t add any points for Ms. Samson’s personal presentation,” Parker wrote in his review.
Parker gave the wine a score of 90 to 91. A score between 90 and 95 means "an outstanding wine of exceptional complexity and character," according to Parker.
Samson will continue her wine career while working for Vivid. She plans to release Sogno Due, a white wine, later this year. Ideas for champagne, ice wine and grappa are in the works. Each venture will doubtless bring additional mainstream attention Samson.
