Booking's first promotion will be a surprise concert on Saint Patrick's Day, March 17, in Boston, the nation's “most Irish city.”
"Having started our own firm just nine months ago, we certainly weren't looking to partner up with anyone or pursue a new venture,” Metcalf said. “But we've gotten to know the East Coast marketplace fairly well since we've been in the process of moving DMPR to Boston, and we noticed a disconnect between the adult industry and New England.
“Granted, most adult publishing is handled in New York, and most DVD production is done in Los Angeles, but we believe there's a sizable audience and potential talent pool in New England that isn't being tapped into or marketed to consistently,” he added.
American Booking also will work with promoters in L.A., Baltimore, Chicago and Lawrence, Kan.
Lead promoter Sami said porn and rock have a long, intertwined history together.
“We're not reinventing the wheel or discovering the hoola-hoop here,” he said. “But what we are going to do is market at a grassroots level and create some exciting shows. Also, many music video directors, musicians, and TV producers want to shoot adult talent, but they don't know where to look. I want to be a one-stop shop for such filmmakers."
