SegPay Hit With Suit in Contract Dispute

MIAMI — SegPay has been hit with a suit involving a contract dispute and nonpayment of a loan, Emanon Inc. said today in a statement.

Emanon, which provides services to third-party processor Commercegate, said that the suit, filed in Broward County, Fla., involved a 2008 management deal between the two companies and that it seeks payments of an outstanding note payable to Mannejor Ltd., a Cyprus incorporated company.

So far, the outstanding amount in the loan  totals $897,000, plus accrued interest.

CommerceGate, as a result of the dispute, no longer does business with SegPay.

“As a direct consequence of this lawsuit and effective immediately, Emanon is no longer providing management services to SegPay” said Bjorn Skarlen, director of Emanon.

CommerceGate, which offers U.S. and European processing, said it was not affected by the suit "and will continue the expansion in line with its ambition to bring constant improvement to payment processing in the high-risk market."

XBIZ calls placed to SegPay CEO Cathy Beardsley weren't immediately returned by post time.
