O’Face, which is open to the general public, provided that performers have not earned money for on-camera work, will draw entrants from Internet submissions. The top 10-12 entries, which are limited to 10 minutes in length, will be voted on by the crowd in attendance at EXXOTICA. While the range of submissions can vary by personal taste, there is only one category, Best Film.
“We’re looking at this as an extension of the EXXOTICA theme,” Jay Handy, director of EXXXOTICA Miami, said. “The show is a celebration of sexy; this is a chance for individuals to showoff their idea of sexy.”
Producers of the winning films will receive cash prizes and the chance to speak with Homegrown about licensing their material, if they wish. However, the goal of the festival is not to find new talent.
“Homegrown is a perfect sponsor for this,” Handy said. “While entrants have the chance to speak with Homegrown about working together, the main idea is to bring in a broader demographic. An event like this helps us bring in more couples and more women.”
EXXXOTICA will be held June 9-11 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Hall C. Admission, which includes attendance at the screenings, is $25 per day. Screenings will take place all three days, with the final day’s screenings dedicated to the winning films.
