CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Smash Pictures has snagged the cover of the summer edition the Playboy SpiceTV mail order catalog, distributed by DVD Empire.
Smash vice president Stuart Wall told XBIZ, "With today’s online piracy and how it's hurting DVD sales, the strength of mail order continues to survive."
He noted that 70 percent of Smash's DVD sales are generated through mail order clients. "Consumers will never stop buying through the mail since some collectors still enjoy collecting the DVD case and art sleeve, similar to record collectors."
Smash's movie "Divorcee 2" starring Julia Ann appears on the new cover.
