Smash Pictures Launches Mobile Download Site

LOS ANGELES — Smash Pictures became the latest adult production studio to make its content available for mobile devices with the launch of SmashPicturesMobile.com, a site built and maintained by San Francisco-based TotalMass.

Users can currently download iPod-formatted trailers and subscribe to a podcast feed unsing iTunes software. Within the next couple of weeks, they also will be able to access content on cellphones on Sprint PCS, T-Mobile, Cingular, Verizon Wireless and other major carriers.

“We were approached first on our ‘Stocking Secrets’ line since it features all glamour models as well as more selective porn stars who only perform girl-girl scenes on camera,” Smash Pictures Vice President Stuart Wall told XBiz. “This series screamed for the mobile and iPod markets since there’s nothing better than seeing the hottest girls undress in their sexiest stockings, lingerie, nylons and garters.”

Duane Wilson, CEO of TotalMass told XBiz that while Smash is starting out with its softer-edged material in the U.S., TotalMass has already started converting the company’s hardcore content for foreign markets as well as for “off-carrier play” in the U.S. — meaning users will be able to access and view the content by using applications that allow them to go outside their carrier networks.

TotalMass also converts and resells content for online adult companies such as SpicePlay.com and Fatal Beauty.com, but Wilson said Smash is the first offline company TotalMass has worked with.

“They have a wide range of content that’s well made and well documented, which makes a big difference” he said. “Their content runs from softcore to hard and includes a huge amount of still images.”

Stars currently available for download through SmashPicturesMobile.com include Jelena Jensen, Cassia Riley, Justine Joli, Aimee Sweet, Jana Cova, Kira Eggers, Tall Goddess and Bella Starr.
