LOS ANGELES — Lee Roy Myers, the 2011 XBIZ Award-winning Director of the Year for a Body of Work, has announced the formation of Goodnight Media, a new production company that will be exclusively distributed by Adult Source Media.
Goodnight Media’s first release is “PRON: The XXX Parody,” a spoof of the sci-fi classic “TRON” that will begin shipping on March 29 through ASM.
The agreement calls for Adult Source Media to handle all of Goodnight Media’s interests in domestic and international DVD distribution.
Myers said that Goodnight Media is a collaboration with several of his longtime colleagues.
“It’s my studio, but it involves people like [director] Sam Hain, the POPPORN guys, and Capitol Entertainment Agency (CEA), among other people,” Myers said. “We’re releasing original features, parodies and gonzo movies. Obviously, we’re trying to keep that high quality, top star, top director thing going too.”
Adult Source Media already has been distributing Myers' lesbian studio Nightingale Pictures, which began releasing last summer. Based on the early success Nightingale, Myers said, “I realized I should just be putting out my own movies so I can really concentrate on pushing them the way that I’d like to push them.”
Wendy Crawford, president of Adult Source Media, touted the Goodnight agreement as another positive step in the continued growth of ASM which has established a strong portfolio of niche offerings.

In addition to "PRON," which Myers co-directed with Sam Hain, Goodnight Media will soon be releasing "Katy Pervy: The XXX Parody," a takeoff of pop superstar Katy Perry that includes spoofs Lady Gaga and Rihanna, among other celebrities. Kimberly Kane plays Katy, while Lexi Swallow assumes the role of Lady Gaga and Misty Stone channels Rihanna.
Myers revealed that another project in the works is titled “Porn in the USA.com Presents: All-American Cheerleaders,” which is a big-budget gonzo movie with a cheerleader theme. The first volume features Kristina Rose, Melanie Rios, Katie St.Ives, Brooklyn Lee and Lexi Diamond.
“It’s shot on the [Canon 5D cameras] and it’s really high-quality gonzo. I’m getting to break out of the more vanilla box that I was in. It’s giving me a chance to expand my porn horizons,” Myers said. “And we’ll continue; we’ve got a lot more movies coming out, including the ‘Sex World’ remake and another gonzo series called ‘Wood Rocket.’”
He describes “Wood Rocket” as another high-end gonzo series with A-list stars and “a sense of humor.”
“We really push the limits — Sam Hain and myself and Paul Woodcrest. We’re doing things we know best that we think are interesting and funny and different,” Myers said.
“I think we’re one of the new studios that knows that for porn to survive as it is, it’s about always being prepared to adapt and evolve, and have several revenue streams — to never just count on one.”
The director continued, “We’re trying to make a company that is ready to make content and deliver it any way that will get the business thriving and keep it thriving. And we’ll keep evolving. We plan on being the porn company of the future into the future.”
