Comedy Star Whitney Cummings to Co-Host XBIZ Awards 2011

LOS ANGELES — XBIZ is pleased to announce comedy star Whitney Cummings as the co-host of the star-studded 2011 XBIZ Awards set for Feb. 9 at the legendary Hollywood Palladium.

“I’m so excited to co-host the 2011 XBIZ Awards,” Cummings said. “Many of my male peers have gone before me and now it’s time to share a female comedian's perspective on this industry!”

Cummings’ star continues to rise as an over-the-top comedienne, whose edgy comebacks have landed her multiple television appearances, including the Comedy Central celebrity roasts of Joan Rivers and David Hasselhoff, and regular appearances as part of the roundtable of comics during E! late-night talk show “Chelsea Lately.”

In addition to traveling nationwide performing stand-up comedy, Cummings most recently served as the host of MTV’s New Year’s Eve celebration, where her boundary-pushing humor was complemented by live performances by some of pop culture’s hottest musical acts and popular celebrities, including the cast of “Jersey Shore.”

She also gained recognition with last summer’s premiere of her one-hour Comedy Central special, “Whitney Cummings: Money Shot.”

Cummings will join Digital Playground contract star Jesse Jane on-stage in honoring the industry’s biggest stars and luminaries who will converge upon the famous Hollywood venue during the star-studded 2011 XBIZ Awards.
