Ben Wa Celebrates 69 Years in Novelty Business

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Adult novelty company Ben Wa International, creator and trademark holder for the Ben Wa balls for women, has announced that 2011 marks the company’s 69th anniversary in business.

The Ben Wa company, founded in 1942 by Fred Malorrus, is a manufacturer of adult toys and novelties, including its most famous product, the Ben Wa balls for women.

The company said the balls are receiving mainstream popularity for their health benefits as a Kegel exercise product.

Over the past few years, Ben Wa has undergone a change in management and ownership, allowing the nearly 70-year old company to preserve and develop the Ben Wa brand, while preserving and expanding its core business as an active supplier of adult novelty products to retailers.

“Stay tuned as the Ben Wa company expands its base of industry-strategic partners as well as its reach into emerging media in 2011," Ben Wa President D. Gordon said.

"We will blend our strength as one of the most tenured and established brands in the U.S. and worldwide for adult novelty products with greater industry involvement overall, as well as participating in the interactive conversation that is called social media. Our trademark Ben Wa balls are the first Kegel exercise product for women in the world to be sold direct via a Facebook fan page without external links. This is only a taste of what’s to come for the company in the new year.”
