PHE for several years has considered this service a top priority around the Thanksgiving holiday. This year the giving is being kicked off with the donation of a traditional Thanksgiving meal to 25 Orange County families in need.
Coordinating through Orange County Social Services (OCSS), the effort becomes a uniting force within the company with various employee departments working together to compile the meals. OCSS picks up a van-load of meals from the PHE offices and gets them to the families in time for today's feast.
Shelanda Jones, a long-time PHE worker and Orange County resident, remarked, “The holidays can be rough when you don’t have the family and financial stability that many of us take for granted. I am proud of PHE’s role in helping 25 local families celebrate substantially who otherwise may not have been able.”
