The Red Umbrella Diaries to Feature Stories on Work, Life

NEW YORK — The monthly Red Umbrella Diaries will feature adult workers telling stories about their work and how it affects their families Dec. 2 from 8 to 10 p.m.

This month’s event features Lily Burana, the author of "I Love a Man in Uniform: A Memoir of Love, War, and Other Battles" and founder of Bombshell Burlesque, a troupe for the wives of deployed military men.

Tré Xavier, a predominantly gay bisexual porn performer, will tell a story about what his mom thinks of his profession.

The Red Umbrella Diaries is a monthly storytelling series, hosted by former sex worker Audacia Ray, where adult performers share their experiences with work and life.

The event is located at Happy Ending in New York’s Lower East side (302 Broome St. between Eldridge and Forsyth).

The Red Umbrella Project includes a weekly podcast featuring stories from the live events, a monthly blog carnival, and offers storytelling training to sex workers.
