Chicago's Gay Bijou Theatre Reschedules Anniversary Event

CHICAGO — In response to increased demand from the adult community, Chicago’s gay Bijou Theatre announced that it is rescheduling its 40th anniversary event.

Theatre management said that the “Staying Hard” event, scheduled for Nov. 18 will now take place on Jan. 22 and will be an even bigger celebration in order to accommodate the "overwhelming interest" for participation by numerous adult businesses.

Currrent corporate sponsors include ManPlay.com from SexSearch, RedlightCenter’s BijouGay3D.com and BeaMonstar Products’ SexVoltz.com. Additional sponsors will be announced as they are added to the celebration.

The company said the iconic theatre welcomes Chicago locals and traveling members and friends of the gay community “For a night of hot men, gay sexual history, great music, new friendships and an overall night to remember at the Bijou Theatre.”

The Bijou Theatre has been operating as a 24-hour gay adult consumer entertainment spot in Chicago since 1970 in tandem with vintage gay erotica supplier Bijou Video.

Bijou founder Steven Toushin said, “A gay porn theater and sex club in business 40 years — impossible, unheard of. Most businesses don't last half as long. I gotta tell ya it's been a-hell-of-a-ride, and I have no idea how I've done it. What I do know is that I'm so very proud that Bijou has serviced, given sexual satisfaction to about five-and-a-half million gay men in its 40 years.”

Toushin added, "It's also fabulous to think that the Bijou must hold the world record for cocks sucked and asses fucked (that's a lot of hard dick and ass), and still the best at it, and adding daily to its record.”

The company also said that the Bijou family of gay erotic properties is expanding into new media offering a line of gay vintage erotica for sale via mail order, web and mobile media. One example includes TribalMale that features exclusive Bijou fetish content and an affiliate promotion that’s part of the SpiceCash.com affiliate network.

“The Bijou network offers opportunities for emerging and established brands alike to reach a wide audience of gay consumers, in print, in person and online," the company said.

"The company and its principals are committed to gay sexuality, the adult entertainment industry overall for almost two decades and will continue to provide relevant consumer and fetish webmaster-centric offers well into the future."
