The site, DirtyColin.com, promises exclusive access to the “As NOT seen on TV” video.
Download speeds on the site were slow Tuesday, with frequent outages altogether, no doubt the result of sizeable interest in the tape, which Narain has been trying to release since July of last year. The 14-minute tape, allegedly shot in Narain’s Los Angeles home, features the couple performing various sex acts in 1992, when Farrell was an unknown model.
Farrell’s attorneys have said the pair made the tape for private use only, and have fought its release since news of its existence first surfaced.
“Colin tried to stop us from showing you this,” reads the new website. “Well, here it is anyways. Alexander is truly great.”
As reported in XBiz, a judge issued a temporary restraining in August to prevent the tape from being marketed. Three months later, attorneys for Narain and online porn peddler Internet Commerce Group moved the case to federal court on copyright grounds, looking to make the case an issue of federal copyright, not privacy.
“We believe that Ms. Narain is entitled to exercise her copyright per federal statutes, and we hope that the court will clear the way for the tape to be released soon,” Sal Abbate, CEO of ICG, said at the time.
On the main page of the site are several screenshots from the video, all of which required sizable download time, no doubt the result of traffic to the site.
A Whois search of the site’s address lists the owner of DirtyColin.com as John Taylor of Coral Springs, Fla. In an emailed response to XBiz from the address listed on Whois, Taylor claimed he had received the tape anonymously.
"I was given an overseas bank account to deposit a percenatge of the proceeds of the sales too," Taylor writes. "At no time have I been able to ascertain exactly who gave me this tape. Apparently this anonymous person was advised that I was the only person on the planet who had the capacity to release this tape 100 percent anonymously."
